Growing up, we discover the entertainment value of fish tales and whoppers. We hear a story that’s too good not to pass along, and we usually do.

So it’s not surprising that originality and accuracy may not be at the top of a congregation’s ethical concerns.

Technology is a major part of today's changing culture, even as people age. Pew Research reports that at the turn of the century, 14 percent of individuals 65 and older went online. Last year that number climbed to 59 percent, with 74 percent of those aged 65-69.

Classes and one-on-one tutoring, perhaps through the church library, can help those who want to learn. In addition to providing new skills, this can lead to intergenerational communication and socializing with others in the community.

Jesus identified mourning as a blessing because when we mourn the death of our loved one, God will make sure we are comforted. God uses fellow believers as comforters to those who are mourning.

The Associated Press reports on the faith of missionary couple David and Nancy Writebol. Nancy contracted the deadly Ebola virus during their service in Liberia and is currently in the United States receiving treatment.
