Many churches have cut back the number of business meetings they hold each year. Some have scaled back publications, particularly as mailed-out print versions.

But does communication make much difference in churches anyway? Can’t most members find out what they need or want to know? The answer is complex and often boils down to the distinction between “need” and “want” — and who controls the desired information.

COLUMBIA, Mo. — The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Missouri changed its identity to Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Heartland by unanimously approving amendments to its bylaws during its general assembly April 26 at Memorial Baptist Church of Columbia.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — At his conversion, Malcolm Duncan believes he was given an “innate” sense that the gospel must permeate all aspects of life. For that reason, the London, England, pastor insists the church must touch every person God sends to it with the Good News in as many ways as possible.
