Jan. 1 - May 15 Sports Crusaders accepting summer staff applications

Sports Crusaders allows college students the opportunity to coach children in local churches and community settings while providing them a positive role model and introducing them to Christ. In its 20-year history, approximately 1 in 8 participants have made a decision for Christ through high-quality basketball, softball, baseball, soccer, volleyball and cheerleading camps in seven states, which provide the “common ground” Paul addresses in 1 Corinthians 9:22. During this period, Sports Crusaders is accepting summer staff applications.

4-9 Benedictine Spirituality Course — Conception Abbey, Conception, Mo.

Cost: $700, includes course, food and lodging.

Central Seminary President Molly T. Marshall takes a group of Central students to Conception Abbey, the Benedictine monastery in northwest Missouri, every other January for a weeklong immersion experience in the liturgical rhythms of Benedictine spirituality. Registration closes soon!

9-11 Camp Connect, Windermere Baptist Conference Center, Roach, Mo.

Camp Connect is a missions-oriented Christian camp experience for children in grades 4-6 as students grow closer to God and each other. This year’s theme, “Join Us at Crocodile Dock!” will be based on the story of Moses and includes a Mardi Gras celebration and Alligator Festival. Missions emphasis will be Together for Hope-Louisiana, a CBF rural poverty initiative ministering to one of the poorest areas in the United States, and will allow boys and girls to learn about needs as well as awareness of local needs surrounding them.
